On Tuesday, February 16 2021, Patrick Andrew Bleil passed away at the age of 45.
Pat was born in Painesville, Ohio, on January 21, 1976, to Chauncey and Mary Ann Bleil.
Survivors include his loving parents in Mentor, sister, Megan Bleil of Kensington, MD, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He also leaves behind his fuzzball fur friend Fritzy, who remains inconsolable.
A lifelong skateboard enthusiast, Pat “the Baron” Bleil was the bedrock of the community of local rippers. He could often be found working at the skate shop or tearing it up with his friends from coast to coast.
After graduating from Mentor High in 1994, he moved to Huntington Beach, CA where he spent the next 10 years. He held various jobs, but his favorite was working for Vans. At one point, the company put him in charge of getting some young pro skaters to events around the world. He spoke fondly of his trips to Germany and New Zealand.
After leaving California, he spent time in Arizona, achieving a certificate in motorcycle maintenance. He moved back home to Mentor in 2008 where he was living and working at the time of his passing.
Like most of his family, Pat was a true animal lover. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Cripple Creek Ferals and Friends via PayPal at criplcrkferals@aol.com or via check to PO Box 172, Uniontown, OH 44685.
The Bleilmonster’s love of skateboarding could only be exceeded by his love for his friends. If you had a friend in Pat, you had a friend for life. He was empathetic, quick witted, sarcastic, and downright hilarious. His clever way with words was unmatched. He would help you with any problem or any project and he believed in you even when you didn’t believe in yourself. He will be missed immensely.
Due to Covid restrictions, a private burial will take place.
An absolute rager will be held at a later date.
