Paul C. Cutler

June 26, 1928 — May 16, 2016

A celebration of the life of Paul C. Cutler, 87, of Fort Myers, FL, will be at 1 PM on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Saint Andrew Episcopal Church, 7989 Little Mountain Road, Kirtland Hills. The Rev. Marie Phillips, Interim Rector, will officiate at the service.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 12 noon , at the Church, on Saturday.

Mr. Cutler passed away on May 16, 2016 in Florida.

He was born in Buffalo, NY on June 26, 1928, the eldest son of Paul and Frances Cutler. He was a former longtime resident of Lake County before retiring to Key Largo and later to Fort Myers, Florida.

He was a World War II United States Army veteran. He was ordained as a Deacon in the Episcopal Church in Munising, MI on the Upper Peninsula, a ministry he continued when he moved to Key Largo and then to Fort Myers.

Paul remained very active in his Church and in his retirement community, Cypress Cove Senior Living, in Fort Myers, where he has served on different committees and was involved in many activities. He loved sailing, nature, playing golf, games and sharing his knowledge with everybody.

He loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. Paul loved to travel, having taken many trips with his wife and family. He will be remembered by many and forgotten by none.

Mr. Cutler was employed by the Willoughby-Eastlake Public Schools, where he taught biology and was the head of the science department at Willoughby South High School. He was also a cross-country coach and assistant wrestling coach. He retired in 1985 after 31 years of service.

Survivors are his wife of 64 years, Shirley H. Cutler; daughter, Julie C. (Dave) Beal of Thompson and son, Robert P. (Laura) Cutler of Painesville Township; three grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and younger brother, Harloe (Harriet) Cutler of Akron.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his younger sister Phoebe Tucker, formerly of Lyndhurst.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to Saint Andrew Episcopal Church, 7989 Little Mountain Road, Kirtland Hills, OH 44060.
