Pauline A. Selan

A Mass of Christian Burial for Paula A. Selan, of Willoughby, will be at 11 AM on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 37932 Euclid Avenue, Willoughby.

Paula passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018.

Born March 19, 1917 in Johnstown, PA, she was a resident of Willoughby for 52 years.

The depression years were hard, and at age 15, she moved to New York City, where she worked as a model, governess, and companion. Most of the money she earned was sent back home to her mother. At 21, she moved to Cleveland with her sister. While traveling back and forth to Johnstown she eventually met her husband Vincent. They married in 1946 and had three daughters.

She is survived by her daughters, Carla (Patrick) Check, Karen (Patrick) Flynn and Donna (James) Braunlich. Also, her loving grandchildren, Jimmy (her caregiver for the last 10 years), Jeffrey, Jonathan, Stephen (Victoria), David, Sara, and Erin and three great grandchildren, Ariana, Kaylee and Joey.

Her husband Vincent and her brothers and sisters are all deceased.

There will be no calling hours.

A private burial will be at All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Township.
