Phoebe Jane Swaney

Private family services have been held for Phoebe J. (Raney) Swaney, 81, of Willoughby.

Mrs. Swaney passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at her home.

Born August 16, 1935 in Euclid, she has lived in Willoughby for the past 57 years.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Euclid.

Mrs. Swaney was a membership secretary at the Lake County West-End YMCA in Willoughby.

Survivors are her husband of 64 years, William; children, Nancy (Steven) Cohen, Patty Swaney and Richard Swaney; grandchildren, Sarah (Richard) Montgomery, Jeremy (Brittany) Cohen and Nick Swaney and great-grandchildren, Emma and Sloane.

She was preceded in death by her son, Billy in 1961; her parents, Robert and Mabel (Drotleff) Raney and sister, Barbara Halter are also deceased.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to the Northern Ohio Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 5700 Brecksville Road 3rd Floor, Independence, OH 44131.
