Services for Phyllis (nee: Fisher) (Weigle) Adelson, 89, of Mentor, will be at 1:30 PM on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
Mrs. Adelson passed away Monday, July 29, 2013 at her daughter’s home.
Born September 22, 1923 in Cleveland, she has lived in East Cleveland, Chesterland and Gates Mills before moving to Mentor more than 20 years ago.
She was a member of SBB at Shaw High School in East Cleveland. She was a member of the Mentor Senior Center, where she played cribbage, and she also enjoyed playing bridge and was an avid golfer and member of several area country clubs.
Mrs. Adelson was employed as the office administrator at Northeast Radiology, her first husband’s medical practice and later as a medical secretary for an orthopedic surgery group in Mentor.
Survivors are her daughters, Cynthia (Arthur) Ohl of South Euclid and Melissa Weigle-Bevilaqua of Concord Township; grandchildren, Robert, Joseph, David, Richard, Jr., John, Alicia and Laura and great grandchildren, Victoria, Grace and Jocelyn. She also leaves her former son-in-law, Robert Iacofano, dear friend, Babe Wertenberger and kitty, Baby.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Keith E. Weigle, M.D.; her second husband, Col. Norman P. Adelson; her daughter, Linda Ann Weigle (Iacofano); her parents, Arthur Albert and Elizabeth (nee: George) Fisher and her cousin, Lois Tletski.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the funeral home. The Rev. Michael J. Currier of the Body of Christ Community Church will officiate at the service. Final resting place will in the Knollwood Cemetery Mausoleum in Mayfield Heights, following the service.
