Phyllis K. Fick

A celebration of the life of Phyllis K. (Gumpenberger) Fick, 66, of Mentor-on-the-Lake, will be held from 5-7 PM on Monday, March 6, 2023 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

Mrs. Fick passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 2, 2023.

Born November 16, 1956 in Fort Wayne, IN, she was a longtime Chardon resident before retiring to Navarre, FL where she lived for 12 years, before returning to Mentor-on-the-Lake six years ago.

She loved spending time with her family and feeding all of the outside wild animals as well as her two dogs. She always watched the Ohio Lottery Cash Explosion every Saturday night.

Survivors are her children, Paul Baker, Wendy Fick (fiancée, Lou Sapic) and Amanda Fick; grandchildren, Tyler, Nevada, Zachary and Chris; great-grandchildren, Mila and Paisley; sister, Karen (Gordon) Saville and brother, Rick (Miriam) Gumpenberger. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by and is now reunited with the love of her life for 46 years, John Fick, III. Her parents, Clarence and Marilyn “Susie” (Williams) Gumpenberger and brother, David Gumpenberger are also deceased.
