Phyllis Wilcox

Services for Phyllis J. (Battles) Wilcox, 84, of Kirtland, will be 11 AM Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. Mrs. Wilcox passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012. Born March 18, 1928 in Chardon, she was a lifelong Kirtland resident. She was a member of the Lake County Farm Bureau, and was also a founder and the first president of the Kirtland Football Moms Club. She most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren on the family farm and had a great love for animals. She is survived by her children, David (Tammy) Wilcox, Jeffrey L. Wilcox and Susan L. Cox, all of Kirtland; cousin, Sandra Palmer of Painesville; grandchildren, Jaclyn, Jordan, Dana, Devin and David Wilcox, Jr., Jami Lambert and Ashley Cox. Her husband of 53 years, Gordon M. Wilcox, passed away September 1, 2000. Her parents, Virgil and Dorothy (Sweet) Battles are also deceased. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the funeral home. Final resting place will be in South Kirtland Cemetery. Pastor Jeff Mills of Parkside Church will officiate at the service.
