Richard A. Foxen, Jr.

Services for Richard Andrew Foxen, Jr., 94, of Willowick, will be at 1 PM on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

The family will receive friends from 11 AM-1 PM on Monday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Foxen passed away Monday, May 27, 2024 at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center in Cleveland.

Born July 1, 1929 in Elmhurst, IL, he has lived in Willowick for the past 39 years.

He was a United States Army veteran, serving in Japan and Korea, from 1946-1952. His military occupation was as a motor sergeant in charge of mechanics and drivers overseeing the repair and maintenance of trucks and trailers. He received many awards and citations during his service.

He was also a member of Temple Lodge 28 F. & A.M., (former Willoughby Lodge 302 F. & A.M.), The Scottish Rite Valley of Cleveland and Al Koran Shrine. He was also a founding member of The Masonic Motorcycle Club.

Mr. Foxen worked in truck equipment and sales, and operated his own truck repair and service business, Foxen Truck. He was also employed as a deputy sheriff in Cuyahoga County from 1972 to 1992.

Survivors are his companion of 39 years, Diane (Manross) Coffman; daughter, Sue Foxen; granddaughter, Jessie Bush; and great-grandsons Joey and Jamie Bush; step-children, Becky (Andy) Fortune and Robert (Alicia) Coffman; step-grandchildren, Conor (Maddie) Fortune, Baylor (Christian) Fortune, Abram Fortune, Emma Coffman and Ella Coffman; nieces, Cindy (Rich) Harding, Martha Crowell, Amy Gaskin and nephew, Stephen (Glynise) Gaskin and their families.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Foxen. His parents, Richard Andrew Foxen, Sr. and Viola (Stanford) Foxen; sisters, Marilyn Gertrude (Foxen) Crowell and Carol Noel (Foxen) Gaskin, and nephews, Stephen Crowell and Christopher Crowell are also deceased.
