Homegoing services for Richard Earl Lawrence, 84, of Eastlake, will be at 11 AM on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Grace Church of Mentor, 6883 Reynolds Road, Mentor.
The family will receive friends from 9-11 AM on Saturday at the Church.
Mr. Lawrence went home to be with his Lord and Savior, whom he loved, on Sunday, October 20, 2013.
Born July 17, 1929 in Clay, WV, Earl has lived in Eastlake for the past 53 years.
He served in the United States Navy during the late 1940’s and was an active member of Grace Church of Mentor where he worshipped faithfully for more than 40 years.
He enjoyed playing golf, and worked the past several years as a ranger at the Johnnycake Ridge Golf Course in Mentor.
Mr. Lawrence was employed as a machinist at the former Cleveland Graphite Bronze Corporation, retiring in 1986. He also drove a school bus for the Mayfield School District for 9 1/2 years.
Survivors are his beloved wife of 56 years, Thelma (Price); daughters, Tina (Rodney) Blackmon of Graniteville, SC and Anne (Dan) Billings of McAllen, TX; son, Rick (Donna) Lawrence of Taylors, SC; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and sister, Joyce Templeton of Charleston, WV.
Committal services will be at 9:30 AM on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Rittman, OH 44270.
The family would like to extend a special, heartfelt thanks to their hospice nurse, Eva and aide, Gregg, for their loving and gentle care for Earl over the last few months.
