Richard Lee Parkin

Richard Lee Parkin, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024 after several months of declining health.

Born October 16, 1936 in Wickliffe, he was a lifelong Northeast Ohio resident, having lived many years in Hambden Township before moving to Kirtland in 2019.

He was a volunteer fireman with the Hambden Township Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed country and bluegrass music and spending time with his family, especially the holidays.

Mr. Parkin employed as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Wickliffe for his entire career.

Survivors are his children, Tom (Linda) Parkin, Christy (Tony) Brettrager and Lisa Thompson; grandchildren, David, Jeremy, Jim (Amber), Nick, Stacey, Daniel (Cheryl), Joshua (Becky); great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Henry, Jacob, Kenzie, Maddie, Conner, Charlotte, Savannah, Sierra, Austin and Hudson; great-great granddaughter, Kiylah. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Mabel Parkin. His siblings, Eugene, Alvin, Harold, Kenneth, Tommy, Milton, Jeannette and Barbara and son-in-law, Dale Thompson are also deceased.

Private family burial will be in Willoughby Cemetery.
