Robert D. Hollingsworth (Don), of Willoughby, passed away on November 21, 2022. Born August 20, 1936, Robert lived in Willoughby his entire 86 years of life.
He was a skillful carpenter who ran his business for over 60 years. He was well known in the community for his work and craftsmanship. Robert was a talented artist who enjoyed drawing, painting, and sculpting. He was a dedicated member of the Cleveland Art Museum. Robert thoroughly loved riding and building his many motorcycles. This was his main mode of transportation in the warmer months.
Robert was a proud Vietnam veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956-1971. He loved to share stories of his time in the service.
He was an avid reader who was passionate about education. Robert attended classes at Lakeland Community College for art, writing, and general studies for over 20 years. In 2016, he was the oldest recipient of an Associates Degree of the Arts at Lakeland Community College.
Survivors include his daughters, Kim (Hank) Hess, Leah Hollingsworth (Eric Sturm), and Hannah Hollingsworth; grandchildren, Chris, Andrew, Stephanie, Nick, Kelsey, Nathan, Savannah, Alahna, Jace, and Grayson; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Natalie, Lillian, Olivia, Amelia, Jamesyn and many other family and friends.
Family will receive friends 1-4 PM Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby. A military service will be held at 3:45 PM.
