A memorial service to celebrate the life of Robert E. Ohler, Sr., 83, of Willoughby, will be at 12 Noon on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at The Body of Christ Community Church, 38057 Erie Road, Willoughby. Pastor Michael Currier and Pastor Eric Leissa will officiate at the service.
Mr. Ohler went home to be with the Lord, peacefully, on Saturday, May 4, 2024, after a lengthy illness.
He was born September 21, 1940 in Dunlo, PA, he has lived in Willoughby for the past 65 years.
Bob was a member of The Body of Christ Community Church in Willoughby, where he was involved in the construction of the church. He enjoyed working with the fellowship of his buddies at the Body of Christ Church. Bob inspired many people by his talents and was able to fix anything.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, participating in scouting activities, Easter egg hunts, planting a garden, traveling to SC, wood working, cooking and attending annual family reunions in PA.
Bob retired as a machinist at the former Reliance Electric (now Rockwell International) after 38 years of service.
Survivors are his loving wife of 59 years, Eleanor (Heim); sons, Robert E. Ohler, Jr. of SC; Thomas (Denise) Ohler and Jeffrey (Rachel) Ohler, both from OH; four grandchildren and their families. He also leaves his sister-in-law, Irene Ohler and many nieces and nephews and their families as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Helen Eleanor (Showinsky) Ohler. His siblings, William and George Ohler, Sadie Malzi, Betty Rusnak, Dolly Walter and Mary Jane Hunter are also deceased. He was the last Ohler sibling of that generation.
