Robert R. Signet

Memorial services for Robert R. Signet, 88, of Willoughby, will be at 11 AM on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Old South Church, 9802 Chillicothe Road, Kirtland. The Rev. Ian Lynch will officiate at the service.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

Mr. Signet passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights.

Born December 19, 1930 in Cleveland, he was a longtime Lake County resident.

He was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Signet was also a member of Old South Church in Kirtland and served as a Stephen Minister, while wintering in Florida. He was also a member of the Kirtland Kiwanis and volunteered with Hospice of the Western Reserve for many years.

Mr. Signet was a high school science teacher at Kirtland High School. He retired in 1988 after 35 years of service.

Survivors are his wife of 64 years, Dana (Bean) Signet; children, Bradford (Ann) Signet and Brenda Swanson; grandchildren, Tracy, Mandy, Lauren, Bobby and David and great-grandchildren, Trevor, Luke, Elise, Liam, Grace, Megan, Ivy, Bryce and Miles.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ted, in 1991. His parents, Leonard and Hazel (Rodgers) Signet are also deceased.

Private family interment will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township.
