Services for Robert W. “Bob” White, 75, of Madison Village, will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
Mr. White passed away Monday, August 11, 2014 at his home.
Born July 24, 1939 in East Cleveland, he was a resident of Madison Village for 30 years.
He enjoyed socializing with his extended family, the residents at Madison Village Manor. He participated in the Special Olympics in softball and swimming events, and enjoyed gardening and helping others.
Mr. White was employed at the True-Value Hardware Store in Willoughby for 30 years and previously at Dun-Rite Plating in his earlier years.
Survivors are his nieces, Donna (Joseph) Gay, Dorretta (Harry) Jenkins, Cheryl (Gary) Kaddatz, Sandy (Gary Parker) Thomas, Ruth (Eddie) Mandato, Sara Ann (Glen) Keating, Linda (Paul) Baker, Judith (Edward) Bash and Elizabeth (John) Gilson; nephews, Mark (Sharon) Thou, James (Kathi) Huffman, Sam (Mary) Thou and David White; 30 great nieces and nephews and 38 great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Elizabeth (Williams) White; his sisters, Esther Huffman, Sarah Swor and Nancy Thou and his brother, Ralph White and nephew, Robert Willard.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, August 12, and from 10-11 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home, prior to the service. The Rev. Gerald D. Kalb of Painesville United Methodist Church will officiate at the service. Final resting place will be in Willoughby Cemetery following the service.
