Roger R. Sauer

Services for Roger R. Sauer, 92, of Willoughby, will be at 1 PM on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Willoughby Hills United Methodist Church, 34201 Eddy Road, Willoughby Hills.

The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 1 PM on Saturday, at the Church.

Mr. Sauer passed away Monday, September 1, 2025.

Born December 12, 1932 in Cleveland, he has lived in Lake County for the past 62 years.

He was a United States Army veteran and a member of Mentor United Methodist Church for many years. He enjoyed square dancing, coin collecting, playing golf, family game nights, playing cards and traveling. He will be remembered as a master of puns and "dad" jokes.

Mr. Sauer was employed as an accountant and cash manager for various businesses throughout his career.

He also prepared tax returns for many individuals and small businesses.

Survivors are his wife of 72 years, Arlene M. (Warman) Sauer; children, Nancy (Jim) Nagle, Linda (Brian) McLaughlin, Dan (Valerie) Sauer and Carol (Pete) Formica; grandchildren, Brian (Gloria) Nagle, Christopher (Deena) Nagle, Adam (Alyssa) Nagle, Kyle (Carla) Nagle, Brianna Sauer, Alyssa Sauer, Nicholas Formica, Domenic Formica, Mario Formica and Sara Formica and great-grandchildren, Fidelina, Tea, Jimmy and Adrian Nagle. He also leaves his sister, Kay (Arthur) Limbird; sister-in-law, Margie Sauer and many nieces and nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Beatrice (Hemke) Sauer and his brother, Kenneth Sauer.

Private family interment will be in Mentor Cemetery.
