Services for Rollin L. “Scotty” Scott, 81, of Mentor, will be at 10 AM on Friday, January 15, 2016 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
The family will receive friends from 2-4, 6-8 PM on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the funeral home.
Scotty passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Briar Hill Health Care Center in Middlefield.
He was a United States Army veteran. He was a longtime member of WESLACO Sportsman’s Club and was a co-founder of the Mentor Fire Museum. He was an avid fisherman, carpenter and antique enthusiast.
Scotty was employed by the City of Mentor, starting in the road department and retiring as Superintendent of Service. He also served on the Mentor Fire Department as battalion chief. He was the last volunteer/part-time battalion chief with fire department. He retired after 45 years of service with the fire department.
Survivors are his children, Gene Scott (Cathy Strah) and Pam (Frank) Pachinger, both of Mentor; grandchildren, Brandon Scott, Rollin, Marissa and Monnis Pachinger; sister, Norma Winter of Concord Township and brother, Howard (Esther) Scott of Mentor.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Marie, in April, 1997. His parents, Eugene and Melva (Yaxley) Scott are also deceased.
Final resting place will be in Mentor Cemetery following the service on Friday.
