Ronald A. Brettrager

Memorial services for Ronald A. Brettrager, 87, of Kirtland, will be at 3 PM on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM on Thursday, prior to the service.

Mr. Brettrager passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024.

Born May 1, 1937 in Cleveland, he has lived in Kirtland for the past 64 years.

He was a member of the United States Coast Guard Reserves and enjoyed his annual hunting trips to Colorado.

Mr. Brettrager was employed as a mechanic for the former Connell and C. Miller Chevrolet dealerships for 23 years. He later worked for Bradshaw and Thorne Excavating in Kirtland, and the Community of Christ, where he took care of maintenance and grounds for the Kirtland Temple.

Survivors are his wife of 66 years, Rosa (Boatman); children, Sandy (Lee) Davis, Royal (Beth) Brettrager and Susan Szymanski; grandchildren, Anthony, Royal, Andy, Michael, Evan and Rosa and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Brettrager and Helen (Zagorski); his step-father, Royal Brockett and brothers, Richard, Raymond and Donald Brettrager.
