Rudolph V. Phillips

Funeral services for Rudolph V. Phillips, 93, of Newbury Twp., will be at 10 AM on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

The family will receive friends 4-7 PM on Monday, June 23, 2025 at the funeral home.

Rudy passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 18, 2025, with his loving family by his side.

He was born May 15, 1932 in Indian Valley, Virginia.

He lived in Willoughby for 40 years and attended Willoughby United Methodist Church.

Rudy was a proud U.S. Army Veteran. He was employed at Cleveland Crane & Engineering and Lake Condo Management. He was an Assistant Scout Master and served on the Willoughby Troop 88 Committee for years. He was an avid golfer and spent many years at the Lost Nation Municipal Golf Course. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his children, Shari (Monte) Cawthon, Sandra (Johnny) Phillips, Sheila Phillips, Randy (Kerry) Phillips; daughter-in-law, Patricia Phillips; grandchildren, Jason (Stephanie) Phillips, Jamie (Matt) Bertram, Kathryn (fiancé, Nicholas Tiscenko) Cawthon, Michael, (fiancé, McKenna Whipple) Cawthon, Johnny (Abby) Phillips Jr., David (fiancé, Rachel Korn) Phillips, Nicholas (Brittany) Phillips, Jennifer (Vinnie) Brenneman, Jeremiah (fiancé, Nastasha Mohr) Phillips, and Sarah (fiancé, John Waldron) Phillips; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Eula Tate and brother, Carlos Phillips. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linnie P. Phillips in 1986 and his son, Ricky Phillips in 2021.

Final resting place will be in Willoughby Memorial Gardens.
