Ruth M. Christofer

Services for Ruth Marie (Mohr) Christofer, 97, of Mentor, will be at 10 AM on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Mentor United Methodist Church, 8600 Mentor Avenue, Mentor.

The family will receive friends from 3-7 PM on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

Mrs. Christofer passed away peacefully on Friday, October 25, 2024 at her home.

Born November 24, 1926 in Melmore, OH she has lived in Mentor for the past 27 years.

She was a member of Mentor United Methodist Church and was an avid golfer, and made a hole-in-one at age 84; she was a former Girl Scout Leader, enjoyed gardening and served as a Cadet Nurse during World War II.

She has voted in every election (including this year) since she was old enough to vote, and was very proud and determined that she was going to vote this year. She also knitted many blankets, afghans and baby clothes and had her own loom where she weaved rugs, placemats and many other things.

Mrs. Christofer was employed as a dental assistant for the office of Dr. Ray Greiner and Associates in Mentor for 17 years.

Survivors are her children, Judy (Ken) Mulh, Steve (Carol) Christofer, Karen (Gary) Lewis, Marijane (Rick) Randazzo and Chris (Misty) Christofer; grandchildren, Chris (Marisa) Muhl, Brenon (Chelsea) Christofer, Thad (Sarah) Christofer, Hannah Christofer, Sarah (Andy) Pocock, Caleb (Esme) Christofer, Seth Christofer, Ryan (Erin) Lewis, David (Erin) Lewis, Katie Lewis, Sam (Heather) Randazzo, Dominic (Tori) Randazzo, Carly (Matt Fee) Randazzo, Dakota (Levi) Christofer; 17 great-grandchildren and sister, Evelyn Knaup. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Donald E. Christofer on September 1, 2017. Her parents, Richard and Bernice (Fritz) Mohr; siblings, Phyllis Valentine, Polly Ritchie, Vivian Weaver, Chuck Mohr and Deanna Koch are also deceased.

Final resting place will be in Mentor Cemetery following the service on Wednesday.
