Ruth Dille Howard

Ruth Elizabeth Howard (nee Dille), age 99 of Willoughby passed away December 12, 2013. She was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1913.

Ruth was born in Cleveland Ohio where she attended East High Schoool. During the depression she moved, with her parents Nettie and Paul Dille to Washington, DC. During her working career, she served as assistant to four editors of Nation’s Business Magazine. In 2006, she lost her husband and moved from Silver Spring, Maryland to Breckenridge’s Independent Living Community. Here she was blessed to find many new friends. Our family is especially appreciative of the wonderful care given to her by the Breckenridge staff and by Dorothy Tindall, her angel and friend.
Ruth’s life has been an inspiration and a joy to all of us.

She was the beloved wife to the late Walter for 67 years; devoted aunt to her niece Patricia West (John) Hungerford and nephew Richard M. West. Dear great aunt to Jan West (Anthony) Volpe, Jill West Hungerford, Luke (Courtney) Ockenden, Whitney Ockenden, Gabriel Volpe and Zachary Ockenden.

The inurnment and service will be held in Silver Spring, Maryland where her and her husband will be laid to rest.
