Ruth L. Murphey

With the home going of Ruth L. Murphey on August 2, 2019, the team of Pastor Bob & Ruth Murphey concludes its ministry here on earth. Pastor Bob finished his live journey December 1, 2007 and Ruth on August 2, 2019. Ruth left for Heaven, from Porter Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso, Indiana.

The family is being cared for by Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby, Ohio.

Visitation for Ruth will be on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 10 – 11 AM, followed immediately by a funeral service at 11 AM. Final resting place will be in Mentor Cemetery following the service.

Ruth was born November 24, 1927 in Euclid, Ohio, the daughter of Charles and Alice (Kendall) Currie who preceded her in death. She was also preceded to Heaven by her husband, Robert and brothers, Charles and Donald.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Rick) Farney of Dayton, TN; their sons, Chris Farney and Ryan Farney (Karen Mishler) and grandchildren, Hank and Wesley; son, Timothy (Carol Rothenbach) of Michigan City, IN; their sons, Tim Jr. (Christal Flores) with Emma and Will and Jason (Julie Silcox) with Bella & Drew and Kyle (Brooke Wenzel); daughter, Coleen (Timothy) McKeehan of Knoxville, TN and their children, Jed (Lorie Wardell) with Nixon and Rhett; Nathan (Annelise Wheeler) with Elijah; Melissa (Jeremy) Powell with Reagan and Adelyn; Emily McKeehan and Bradley McKeehan; son, Robert (Christie Bradley) of Canton, GA and their daughters, Keegan (Huy) Nguyen, Amber Murphey and Sophie Murphey.

Ruth was a graduate of the former Andrews School for Girls in Willoughby, Ohio and attended Bryan College, Dayton, TN; Dallas Bible College, Dallas, TX and graduated from the Moody Bible Institute, Cleveland, OH.

During 50 years in the pastoral ministry, she served side by side with her husband in all of the ministries of the church, in the five churches where her husband served.
