A celebration of the life of Ruth E. (Nicholas) Schwarzenberg, 83, of Wickliffe, will be at 11 AM Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Mentor United Methodist Church, 8600 Mentor Avenue, Mentor. The Rev. Kurt E. Landerholm will officiate at the service. Mrs. Schwarzenberg passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012 at The Homewood Residence at Richmond Heights. Born May 9, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA, she has lived in Lake County for more than 50 years. She was a member of Mentor United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for many years and was also a member of the Wildwood Garden Club in Mentor. She was an avid artist and gardener and volunteered at Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby for many years. Mrs. Schwarzenberg was employed as an elementary teacher in the Wickliffe Public Schools, retiring in 1989 after 32 years of service. She is survived by her children, Robert R. (Nancy) Schwarzenberg, Jr. of Wickliffe, Randy Schwarzenberg of Nelsonville and Robin (Alan) Cubberley of Chagrin Falls; grandchildren, Megan and Hannah Cubberley and Spencer, Sophia and Cameron Schwarzenberg. Her husband, Robert R. Schwarzenberg, Sr., passed away June 10, 1993. Her parents, Phillip and Virginia (Warner) Nicholas and her brother, The Rev. Dr. David Nicholas are also deceased.
