Ruth L. Vest

Memorial services for Ruth L. “Jinx” Vest, 83, of Mentor, will be at 7 PM on Monday, June 3, 2013 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. William H. Alvey will officiate at the service.

Mrs. Vest passed away Monday, May 27, 2013.

Born July 29, 1929 in Cleveland, she has lived in Mentor for the past 53 years.

She enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing cards, especially pinochle, with her many friends and neighbors. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends in “the club.”

Mrs. Vest was a homemaker and also worked for the Lake County Planning Commission for several years.

She is survived by her sons, Mark (Dee) Vest of Madison and Karl Vest of Cleveland and grandchildren, Zachary (Jordan) Vest and Hanna Vest. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and their families and her beloved beagles.

Her husband, Virgil, passed away June 30, 2007. Her son, Carl David Vest and parents, Charles and Lottie (Luckett) Domabyl are also deceased.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to a favorite charity in memory of Jinx.
