Samuel J. Elliott

Samuel J. Elliott, 88, of Eastlake, passed away peacefully May 30, 2025 with his family by his side.

He was born March 27, 1937 in Cleveland, Tennessee.

Sam retired from General Motors in Euclid in 1991, after 35 years of service.

He enjoyed umpiring softball games for many years around the Lake County area. He found joy and purpose in driving a limousine and was an avid hunter. He was also a member of Temple Lodge #28 F. & A.M. in Painesville.

Survivors include his children, JoAnn Barko and Steven (Chelsa) Elliott; grandchildren, William Jr., Cory, Timothy, Jacqueline, Brittany, Steven Jr., Jessica, Calista, Hunter, and Isabella; 8 great-grandchildren and partner, Lea Snell. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert T. and Nannie (White) Elliott and siblings, Helen, Robert Lee, James, Laura and Paul.

The gathering of family and friends to honor Sam will be from 2:30-5:30 PM, Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Wildwood Cultural Center, 7645 Little Mountain Rd., Mentor, OH 44060.
