Sandra L. Lonchor

Sandra Lee Lonchor (nee Gaggiani) age 88, a longtime resident of Willoughby Hills, passed peacefully on September 20, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 10,1936, in Redstone Township, PA.

Sandy’s vocation in nursing (RN) companioned well with her compassionate and attentive nature. She enjoyed 42 years in the nursing profession, the last 35 years of which were spent at Hillcrest Hospital. She worked in the obstetric department before transitioning to ambulatory surgery department before retiring in 1998.

She found purpose and fulfillment in her family; especially if there was a celebration of any kind to be planned and her church community. She enjoyed leisure time, traveling, reading mysteries, crossword puzzles and spending time with cherished friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Joseph Lonchor, Gregory (son), Inez Gaggiani (sister) and Eugene Gaggiani (brother).

She is survived by her brother John Gaggiani; her children, Jeffrey, Christine (Bob), Gina, Beth Ann (Scott), Jaci and Mary; grandchildren, Valerie (Cody), Greg (Christine), Joey (Lauren), Katie, Adam (Kristen), Jeffrey James (Olivia), Robert, Collin (Rebecca), Rachel and McKenzie (Mario), Ethan, Megan, Sarah and Megan; great grandchildren, Owen, Corey, Izabella, Olive, Sonny, Olivia, Charlotte, Xander, Stella, Truman, Cade.

The family will receive friends and family from 2pm-6pm on Friday, September 27,2024 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby, OH.

The funeral mass will be held at 9:30am, Saturday, September 28,2024 at St. John of the Cross Church, 140 Richmond Rd., Euclid, OH. A burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon, OH.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donation be made in Sandy’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
