Shirley A. Davidson

Shirley A. (Thorne) Davidson, 78, of Kirtland, went to be with the Lord December 19, 2022 at Mentor Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born May 3, 1944 in Willoughby, she was a lifelong resident of Kirtland and Willoughby.

She devoted her life to God and her family. She was very active with children and youth programs within her community and in her church, the Community of Christ in Kirtland. Shirley was very patriotic and volunteered in the woman’s auxiliary of the American Legion. She loved red, white, and blue.

Survivors include her high school sweetheart and husband of 59 years, Steven E. Davidson; children, Cory (Julie) Davidson, Kelly (Les) McArthur, William (Karen) Davidson, and Toby (Megan) Davidson; grandchildren, Tina, Morgan, Whitney, Gracie, Erika, Kaitlin, Duncan; great-grandson, Oliver; siblings, Sally Cox, Bernard Thorne, and Linda Rose (Mickey) Garrison; sister-in-law, Ann Thorne (Ronald). She leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews and their families. Natalia Deyanira (Elvis) and daughter, Esmeralda of Costa Rica who adopted Shirley and Steve as her parents.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Leva (Romine) Thorne and brothers, Bill (Delores), Lloyd David (Jan), Ronald and Donald Thorne.

Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM, Friday, June 9, 2023 at Community of Christ Church, 9017 Chillicothe Rd., Kirtland. A reception luncheon will follow at the church.
