Stephen G. Mayhew

Services for Stephen G. Mayhew, 83, of Mentor, will be at 7 PM on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, prior to the service.

Mr. Mayhew passed away Friday, November 28, 2025.

Born October 16, 1942 in Akron, he has lived in Mentor for the past 32 years.

Steve was an avid golfer in leagues at Pine Ridge Country Club and also volunteered there. He was also an avid Cleveland sports fan and most especially being Grandpa Steve.

Mr. Mayhew was employed at the former Motch-Merryweather Company in Euclid, retiring after 25 years.

Survivors are his wife of 48 years, Carol (Baku); step-son, Thomas (Melissa) Hoinski and daughter, Kristina (Erik) Hope; grandchildren, Devin, Alexis, Austin and Addison and brother, Craig (Alan) Mayhew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Eleanor (Whitacre) Mayhew and his sister, Diane Logan.
