Stuart H. Currie

Stuart H. Currie, 79, of Eastlake, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights.

Masonic services will be conducted by brethren and friends of Willoughby Lodge 302 F. & A.M. at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 followed by funeral services conducted by The Rev. Robert A. Gaston, at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

The family will receive friends from 2-7 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home, prior to the services.

Mr. Currie was a 32nd degree mason in Willoughby Lodge 302 F.& A.M. and was very active in the Order of the DeMolay where he was awarded the Legion of Honor. He was an avid golfer, and a member of St. Denis Golf Course in Chardon Township. He most especially enjoyed spending time with his family and attending their activities.

Stu was a rabid Cleveland sports fan, especially the Browns and Indians. He enjoyed traveling and attending the Ohio Scottish Games.

Mr. Currie was employed as certified public accountant for the Hi-Tech Metal Group for 16 years, retiring in 2001. After retirement, he continued his career in private practice.

Survivors are his wife of 39 years, Kathy (McGraw) Currie; children, Aline (Douglas) Peterson of Auburn Twp., Scott Currie of Charlotte, NC and Valerie (Chip) Genchi of Garfield Heights and James (Michelle) Blair of Medina; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister, Helen Steinmetz of Rocky River and daughter-in-law, Pamela Currie of San Antonio, TX.

He was preceded in death by his son, Stuart A. Currie and his parents, George and Jean (Stewart) Currie.
