Thelma C. Lawrence

Services for Thelma C. (Price) Lawrence, 88, of Mentor, will be at 11 AM on Friday, May 22, 2026 at Grace Church of Mentor, 6883 Reynolds Road, Mentor.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM on Friday, May 22, 2026 at Grace Church of Mentor.

Mrs. Lawrence went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

Born June 13, 1937 in St. Leo, WV, she has lived in Lake County for the past 66 years.

Thelma was a hardworking, feisty, generous and unique individual. She accepted the Lord as her Savior at seven years old in Sunday School at St. Leo United Methodist Church.

She married her husband, Earl on April 21, 1957 and raised her children and grandchildren to love and serve the Lord.

Thelma drove a school bus for Mayfield City Schools for 40 years. Through it all, she served the Lord faithfully. She and Earl attended Grace Church of Mentor for over 50 years and she always gave freely of herself to anyone in need.

Her love of garage sales was legendary and she furnished a beautiful home with all the many treasures that she found. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends from Grace Church of Mentor and Parker Place, where she spent her final years.

Survivors are daughters, Tina (Rodney) Blackmon and Anne (Dan) Billings; son, Richard Earl (Donna) Lawrence, Jr.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and her sister, Marolene (Loye) Walls. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Richard Earl Lawrence, Sr. on October 20, 2013. Her parents, Richard and Jaunita Price; sisters, Janet Garrison and Linda Downey and grandson, Jason Billings are also deceased.

Final resting place will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.
