Thelma Mae Mcdermid

Services for Thelma Mae (Parsons) McDermid, 76, of Willoughby, will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

Mrs. McDermid passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at her home.

Born December 26, 1937 in Lee County, VA, she has lived in Lake County for more than 51 years.

She enjoyed attending church as she was able, attending various social events and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She often attended the Willoughby Senior Center where she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and various other activities.

Survivors are her children, Steve Lightner of Vienna; Darlene (David) Hritz of Harpersfield Twp., and Teri Renfro of Mentor; grandchildren, Tony (Megan) Renfro, Tyler Renfro, Shauna Lightner, Jacob Renfro, Justin Renfro and David K. Hritz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, on October 14, 1999. Her parents, William and Bessie Parsons and siblings, Lavonne, Dennis, Lorraine and Donald are also deceased.

The family will receive friends from 2-4, 6-8 PM on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the funeral home. The Rev. Michael E. Wengerd will officiate at the service. Final resting place will be in Willoughby Memorial Gardens following the service.
