Thomas W. Scanlon III, age 82, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2024 at David Simpson Hospice House, surrounded by his family. He was born November 17, 1941 to the late Ed and Mary (Gentille) Robson.
Tom served in the U.S. Navy from 1959-1962 and was stationed on the U.S.S. Rich in Virginia. He married the love of his life of over 50 years, Bonnie (nee Grace) Scanlon and had two beautiful children, Mark and Colleen. He began his career at National Acme in Cleveland before moving to California where he retired from McCormick.
Left to celebrate his life are his son, Mark Scanlon (Wendy Kelley); sister, Kathy (Mike) Hayes; sister-in-law, Denise Robson; grandchildren, Eric Scanlon, Shane (Angela) Scanlon, Nikki Scanlon, and Noah Scanlon. He has multiple great-grandchildren whom he deeply cherished, Grace, Maddie, Maci, Ren, and Zoe. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews that he held dear to his heart.
Tom is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Scanlon in 2019; daughter, Colleen (Scanlon) Hartshorne in 2019; mother, Mary Robson; sisters, Barbara (Tom) Andrusk and Priscilla (Ralph) Schultz; brothers, Jimmy (Maryann) Scanlon and Edward Robson.
There will be no services at this time. A celebration of life for both Tom and Bonnie will take place at a later date.
