Thurman "Pete" passed away surrounded by family Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Hospice House in Cleveland.
Born January 13, 1939 in Augusta, Arkansas, he has lived in Eastlake for the past 54 years.
He was a United States Army veteran and enjoyed woodworking, photography, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Pete was employed as a welder at the former Euclid, Inc. He retired in 2001 after 31 years of service.
Survivors are his wife of 61 years, Claudia (Cox); sons, Peter (Kelly) Cornwell and their son, Alec; Ken (Patti) Cornwell; their daughter, Devin (John) Michaletti and their children, Jack, Scottie and Ridge and Shawn Cornwell and his children, Adrianna and Abigayle Cornwell. He also leaves his brothers, Kenneth and Clinton Cornwell as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Chad Cornwell in October, 2022. His mother, Essie; sisters, Rosie, Jettie, Reba, Evia and Elizabeth and brother Harvie are also deceased.
Memorial services for Thurman H. Cornwell, 83, of Eastlake, will be at 4 PM on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM on Saturday, prior to the memorial service
