Services for Violet Johannes, 91, of Willowick, will be at 10:00 am Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Parkside Church, 7100 Pettibone Road, Bainbridge Township, 44023. Mrs. Johannes passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 at her home. Born in Salem, South Dakota, she lived in Minneapolis, MN, Milwaukee, WI and Cedar Rapids, IA before moving to Willowick, Ohio 40 years ago. Mrs. Johannes attended Swedish Hospital School of Nursing in Minnesota and graduated with a diploma in 1948. She and her late husband Del were married in 1950. Violet was a member of Parkside Church in Bainbridge Township and enjoyed baking, reading and encouraging and helping others. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Euclid General Hospital in Euclid and retired in 1985. Survivors are sisters, Sadie Philbrick and Lilly (Albin) Skogstad of Minnesota, children, Marabeth (Roy) Ringenberg of Ecuador, Marie (Brent) Jones of Oak Park, IL, Keith (Tammy) Johannes of Willoughby and Kent (Diana) Johannes of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren, Sarah (Dan) DeSalvo, Peter Ringenberg, Ruth (Jason) Martin, Beth (Ryan) Iverson, Becky (Dane) Collette, Rachel (Sam) George, Meghan, Kyle, Kerie Johannes and Anna Johannes; great grandchildren, Natalie and Claire DeSalvo and Zoe Martin. Her husband, Delbert Johannes, parents, David and Hulda Anderson, brother, Lawrence Anderson and grandson, Stephen Johannes are deceased. The family will receive friends from 2-4, 6-8 PM on Friday, March 2, 2012 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. Pastor Jeff Mills of Parkside Church will officiate at the service. Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkside Church or Cleveland Clinic Hospice in memory of Violet Johannes.
