Memorial services for Walter J. Fry, 89, of Chester Township, will be at 3 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The Rev. Larry A. Pozza, of ShadeTree Community Church, will officiate at the service.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM on Saturday, prior to the service.
Mr. Fry passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at The Waterford at Richmond Heights.
Born September 2, 1928 in Green, he has lived in Chester Township for the past 58 years.
He was a United States Army veteran. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed traveling and fishing.
Mr. Fry was a heavy equipment operator before his retirement.
Survivors are his children, William (Karen) Fry, Peggy Wieland and Richard Fry; grandchildren, Christina, Rebecca, Megan and Corey; great-grandchildren, Kaydn, Connor, Kaitlyn, Tyler and Samantha; sister, Betty Riedel and brother, Earl (Ada) Fry.
He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years, Sally, on June 2, 2004. His parents, Percy and Ruth (Koontz) Fry and sister, Evelyn Smith are also deceased.
