Funeral services for Wendell J. “ Treeman” Comstock, 68, of Eastlake, will be 4 PM Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby.
Family will receive friends 1-4 PM Sunday, prior to the service at the funeral home. Social distancing protocols will be enforced and masks are required.
Wendell passed away May 3, 2021 in Eastlake. Born June 17, 1952 in Painesville, he was a lifelong Lake County resident.
He was a salt miner for Morton Salt until his retirement in 2017. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the 82nd Airborne Rangers in the Vietnam War.
He enjoyed music and being around his family, especially his grandchildren. He was known for a good cheeseburger and soda and always liked to make people laugh. He enjoyed raising his two daughters on his own and watching his family grow. His favorite pastime was riding his Harley Davidson and working in the yard, trying to crop the perfect tomato.
Survivors include his daughters, Theresa Comstock and Kimberly (Ed) Dawes; grandchildren, Aaron, Michelle, Raymond, and Jarred Wank and Logan and Ryan Dawes; siblings, Michael (Stephanie) Comstock, Sandy Smith, and Patch Poyner. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who became his brothers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Joealma (Davenport) Comstock and grandson, Nicholas Wank.
