Born on January 15, 1942, in Willoughby, Ohio, Bill lived a life defined by faith, devotion to family, and quiet strength. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and carried that sense of duty and discipline throughout his life.
His Christian faith guided him through every season of life and remained central to the way he loved, worked, and cared for others.
Bill owned his own meat market in Colorado Springs and served as a supervisor for the State of Ohio’s Department of Agriculture, retiring in 2005. Outside of work, he found joy in woodworking, raising horses, and aviation, earning his private pilot’s license and embracing the freedom of flight.
Those who knew Bill will remember his steady character, strong work ethic, deep love for his wife and family, and unwavering faith in God.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Linda J. (Peters) Choate, sister Jeannie, brother Terry, and son William Edward Choate III and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. Choate, Sr., and Hilda (Proper) Choate, and his brother Oral.
Bill will be laid to rest at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
