William R. Freitag

Services for William R. Freitag, 83, of Wickliffe, will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The Rev. Dana L. Flemming of Willoughby Hills United Methodist Church will officiate at the service.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Monday, December 18, 2017 at the funeral home. Brethren and friends of Collinwood Lodge 582 Free and Accepted Masons will conduct Masonic Rites at 7:00 PM on Monday.

Mr. Freitag passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Hospice House in Cleveland.

Born April 5, 1934 in East Cleveland, he has lived in Wickliffe for the past 58 years.

He was a member of Willoughby Hills United Methodist Church, Collinwood Lodge 582 Free and Accepted Masons, a Scottish Rite 33rd Mason, and a member of the York Rite Cross of Honor. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and travelling.

Mr. Freitag was employed as a tool and die maker at the Fisher Body Coit Road Division in Cleveland and Chevrolet in Parma from where he retired in 1993 after 41years of service.

Survivors are his wife of 27 years, Janice M. (Pickett) Freitag; sons, Dale (Josephine) Freitag, David (Maria) Freitag, and James (Letty) Freitag; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Thomas (Charlotte) Freitag and JoAnn (Matthew) White.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Olga Freitag in 1989 and his parents, Herman and Alice (Anderson) Freitag.

Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township, following the service on Tuesday.
