Services for Willis R. Nash, 88, of Willoughby Hills, will be at 3 PM on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Grace Episcopal Church, 36200 Ridge Road, Willoughby.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM on Tuesday, prior to the service at the Church.
Mr. Nash passed away peacefully on Friday, December 9, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born January 5, 1934 in Kirtland, he was a lifelong Willoughby Hills resident.
Mr. Nash was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Willoughby and served in the United States Army after the Korean Conflict. Raised on the Nash family farm in Willoughby Hills, he tended the peach and apple trees and shared the harvest with the community, he later went on to study agriculture at The Ohio State University.
Mr. Nash was employed in the railroad industry in the Youngstown area, having worked for the Conrail, CSX and Norfolk Southern Railroads.
He also loved to visit museums, libraries and listen to classical music. He enjoyed spending time with his family visiting the National Parks and most recently traveled to Canada last August to see the mountains one last time.
Survivors are his wife of 37 years, Amelia (Casera) Nash; daughter, Nadine (Bryce) Burkhardt; granddaughters, Liliana and Bellemy Burkhardt and sister, Judith (Paul) Moore. He also leaves his brother-in-law, Don Scarbrough and many nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Abel and Constance (Bartley) Nash; sister, Edith Scarbrough and brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Karen Nash.
Private family burial will be in South Kirtland Cemetery.
