Mitch Babcock
Co-Owner & Funeral Director
Mitch has worked in the funeral business for over 45 years, beginning with a part-time job in 1978. He is a graduate of Mentor High School, Xavier University, and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. After working at Davis Funeral Home for 20 years, and at the time of Chuck Davis's retirement, he was able to purchase the business in 2007 marking the inception of DavisBabcock Funeral Home.
Mitch enjoys attending Cleveland Guardians baseball games, traveling to Arizona for spring training, volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America Troop #280 and traveling whenever possible in his RV. Jimmy Buffett concerts were always a favorite destination.
Mitch and his wife Laurie have two children. Their son Ted works for Park Place Technologies and daughter Cori is pursuing a Master's Degree in athletic training and a Doctorate in physical therapy at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia.

Laurie Babcock
Co-Owner & Office Manager
Laurie is newer to the funeral business. She joined Mitch at the funeral home in 2015, upon her retirement from teaching first grade for 30 years in the Chardon Local Schools.
Laurie grew up in Lyndhurst, Ohio and is a graduate of Charles F. Brush High School, Mount Union College, and John Carroll University where she earned her Master's Degree in Education.
Laurie is an active member of Mentor United Methodist Church where she enjoys singing with the choir and serving in children and youth ministries. She also enjoys volunteering through many of the mission opportunities at the church.
One of her greatest joys is singing with the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus at Severance Hall and the Blossom Festival Chorus at Blossom Music Center during the summer.

Tara Grano
Funeral Director
Tara has been a member of our team since 2013. She is a graduate of Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin High School and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science where she earned her degree and passed her funeral director and embalmer's license exams in 2001.
Tara and her husband Nick live in Mentor with their three children, Nicholas, Charlie, and Elizabeth, and two yellow labs named Duncan and Marshall.
Tara enjoys running and working out, and is rarely without a good book. She enjoys watching her kids' sporting events and other activities as well as spending time with family and friends. Tara and her family attend St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Mentor.

Greg Grimm
Service Assistant
Greg is a lifelong resident of Willoughby and graduate of Willoughby South High School. He retired from his job as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service here in Willoughby before joining our staff in 2015.
Greg and his wife Denise have a son, Nicholas and daughter, Holly and four grandsons.
Greg enjoys golfing and is a fan of all the Cleveland sports teams. His favorite dinner is pizza and a cold beer plus anything on the grill.

Larry Pozza
Service Assistant / Chaplain
Larry joined our team in 2016. He is a native of the Akron area and has lived in Lake County for over 35 years.
He earned his Master of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary and has served as a Senior Pastor locally as well as a Professor with the Moody Bible Institute.
Larry and his wife Este have two sons, Kevin and Brent. Larry has a wide range of interests including sports, photography, hiking, guitar, ancestry research, and travel.

Dana Flemming
Service Assistant
Dana Flemming has been with us since June, 2021. He is a retired United Methodist pastor, having served churches in Medina, Lakewood, Solon, and most recently in Willoughby Hills.
He is married to Martha, a clinical counselor. They have three adult children. Dana enjoys golf and flying radio controlled sailplanes. He and Martha are season ticket holders for the Lake County Captains baseball team.
Born and raised in New York, Dana came to Ohio to study for his Bachelor's Degree at Hiram College, where he met Martha. He continued his education at Ashland University Theological Seminary, receiving a Master of Divinity degree in 1984.
In addition to his pastoral career, he has been a police officer and a professional musician, playing baritone saxophone in jazz big bands. He and Martha have lived in Willoughby since 2006.
